Types of Acoustic Underlayments for Hardwood Floors:
Cerazorb® LD for Hardwood
Low Density (LD) Acoustical Underlayment Designed Specifically For Installation Beneath Engineered Hardwood, Stiff-Core LVT/LVP and Waterproof Floor Applications.
Cerazorb LD offers high energy impact with low weight and will remain unchanged after repeated impact loads. It is made out of hemi-crystalline thermoplastic that will not rot, swell, absorb water and is anti-microbial.
ProBase® Rubber Underlayment For Engineered Hardwood & Laminate
Made from recycled rubber tires, ProBase acoustic underlayments can be installed under floated or double glued engineered hardwood, laminate or tile/stone flooring for excellent noise control.
ProBase is the perfect product to use in lightweight wood frame construction due to its weight & mass. ProBase underlayment is available in stocked thickness of 3mm, 5mm, 6mm, 10mm & 12mm and offers excellent noise control for both airborne noise reduction & impact isolation.
Redupax® Underlayment for Floated Floors
Redupax is a 100% recycled wood fiber based underlay that will not bounce or flex like many foams, felts, and rubber underlays—resulting in a more stable and robust sound when walked upon, and eliminating the disagreeable “hollow sound” attributed to many floated engineered hardwood and laminate floors.
Redupax has a thickness of 9 mm and a density of 13 lbs per cubic foot and offers true stability, acoustics and thermal qualities. In addition, Redupax is also environmentally friendly FCS certified and bio degradable. Installed under floated engineered hardwood and laminate floors, Redupax proves time and again high quality, acoustic performance and reliability.
Paladin® For Hardwood & Laminate
Paladin is a thin acoustic flooring underlayment that is only 4mm thick and is available in packages of 130 sf. Paladin underlayment is economically priced and is made from FSC certified compressed wood fibers that offers better acoustical performance over similar priced foams, felts, rubber or natural cork underlayments.
Paladin Floor underlayment is lightweight and easily installed under floated laminate engineered hardwood flooring.
Soundeater® For Hardwood Floors
Soundeater underlayment for nail down hardwood is the most recent development in the field of sound reducing sub-flooring designed for 3/4" solid and 14-15mm semi-solid hardwood flooring.
Soundeater combines a specially designed tongue and groove impact absorbing soft board with a mating wooden profile. The profile is placed free from the substrate between the soft boards every 10 1/2". The top side of the profile will accept a 1 1/2" flooring nail on a 45 degree angle through 3/4" hardwood without touching the sub floor. The result is a totally free floating hardwood floor.
